The Water of Life
At the western terminus of the Historic Corrales Adobe Compound is the Acequia Madre (Mother Ditch) that has served as a major fount of water diverted from the Rio Grande river to bring life to seeds and seedlings in the Valley. Since the time of indigenous peoples and forward vegetables, grape vines, alfalfa, timothy, grains and more have thrived … Thanks to The Flow of Water. Since the days of the pueblo ancestors, to the Spanish entry, and then the more recent coming of the French, Germans and on to modern gentrification The Acequia Madre has had its seasonal transformation from wintry dry/emptiness to resurgent fullness of flow diverted in small tributaries to the awaiting fields and hedgerows. Truly The Water of Life in the High Desert of New Mexico.
For the past 46 years we have watched the pasture, trees and all manner of plantings at the Historic Corrales Adobe Compound thrive as we exercised our irrigation rights through the Middle Rio Grande Conservancy District. These rights will be passed on to the new owners. Watch the Water of Life Flow and you will be renewed along with all manner of flora and fauna.
NOTE: The HACIENDA (MAIN HOUSE) MAY BE PURCHASED SEPARTELY AT A PRICE OF $850,000.
